About the event
We welcome Professor Gavin Schaffer, recently elected President of the Jewish Historical Society of England, who will outline his ideas for the Society, followed by a discussion about his newly published book with the branch chairman Michael Crook.
Gavin Schaffer is an acclaimed modern historian, now Professor of Modern British History at Manchester Metropolitan University, having previously been a senior lecturer at the University of Birmingham. His book explores the complexities of inclusion and exclusion of groups outside the mainstream Jewish communities, and their relationships with other minorities in Britain. The book has been described as brave and important, but also lucid and readable.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to this Zoom event.
Members are granted a free ticket to JHSE events. If you require help getting your free ticket, please see our troubleshooting guide in the first instance.
