Website Content Manager - Job Description
The Jewish Historical Society of England - the JHSE - was founded in 1893 and is the longest-lived society dedicated to Jewish history in Europe. We exist to promote research, to support the publication of historical sources to underpin such study, to encourage dialogue and to raise public awareness of the relevance and significance of Jewish history.
The JHSE is looking for a website content manager to assist us in keeping the content of our website up to date with news, blogs and events, and to provide general support to our members and online delegates with programmes such as Zoom.
The role is a remote one although participating in periodic Zoom meetings and phone calls with JHSE trustees will be required.
The post holder should commit to 3 -5 hours a month, at a rate of £17 per hour.
Duties:

Upload content to the JHSE website on a regular basis: blog posts, news items, President’s newsletters, etc.

Ensure that online event recordings are uploaded and shared on the member page of the website

Create event listings for all JHSE branches

Send out campaigns from the website to market upcoming events to members and subscribers

Manage problem-solving related to any issues arising with the website, including logins and memberships

Maintain good working knowledge of Wix software.
Skills required:
Necessary skills

Experience of using the Wix website management system, or a similar system. Willingness to maintain a good level of expertise in Wix and proven capacity to do so.

Interest in or familiarity with Jewish history, Jewish organisations, charitable organisations, and/or historical or academic institutions.
