<plain_text><page sequence="1">PREFACE The present volume forms Part III of the Miscellanies issued by the Society and consists of historical Papers and Notes contributed by various authors?to whom the Council tender their grateful thanks. The publication of these short studies, etc., upon Anglo-Jewish history has proved welcome to the members of the Society and will be continued at periodical intervals. The Council desire to record their indebtedness to the courtesy of the Dean and Chapter of St. Paul's Cathedral for permission to photograph the valuable Jewish MSS. in their archives, and also to Mr. P.
