Chaired by John Cowell, a retired librarian, born Blackpool, now living in Southport. His interest in Jewish history and family history has been developed in retirement, resulting in three books, on the Jewish communities in Preston, Bolton and Southport, the second with Hilary Thomas. He lived in Poland 1992 to 1994, and explored many of the Jewish areas, including Warsaw, Lodz, Lublin and Majdanek.
