Become a JHSE member

JHSE membership offers you access to an exciting events programme, generous research awards, our journal archive, video library and more.

The Jewish Historical Society of England (JHSE) brings together those of us interested in history and our communities, as readers, as academic researchers, or as teachers.  For over a century we have invited historians to deliver lectures and during the Covid era these moved online, bringing us interest and some sociability during difficult times.

We’ve recently organised a vibrant group of emergent historians - the New Generation Group - to promote lively discussion. And our journal, with its innovative and excellent research, now spans the history of Jews throughout the English-speaking world.

Our trustees volunteer their time and expertise and at the same time we actively welcome ideas and contributions from our members. Another avenue for activity is through our branches, where regional members promote local activity.

The JHSE is the sum of its members.  If you are interested in Jewish history you can play a part just as others have done for more than 125 years.  Join today, invite a friend to join, or even gift a membership to a friend or to relative.  Be part of the story of Jewish history!
