800th Anniversary of the Synod of Oxford

Members of JHSE may be interested to view the event which will be steamed on 8 May at 2pm, from the Cathedral of Oxford, on the 800th anniversary of the Synod of Oxford (1222). This Synod legislated for England decrees already made in 1215 by the Council that met in Rome and included among its many decisions several anti-Jewish (and anti-Muslim) measures. In the presence of the Chief Rabbi and other community leaders the bishop of Oxford will lead an engagement with this historic legacy.
